dc.description | A central bank digital currency (CBDC) is a digital form of central bank money denominated in the official unit of account for general purpose users. A CBDC can take several forms with different characteristics, depending on its purpose. A Norges Bank working group has completed the third phase of a study of CBDCs. The work is based on the working group's first and second report; see Norges Bank Papers 1/2018 and Norges Bank Papers 2/2019. In 2020 the working group also published a status report; see Norges Bank Papers 2/2020. | en_US |
